Cabinetry nightmare

So we found the perfect cabinetry. The color was spice with a mocha glaze in a full overlay arch pattern. We loved it and it went well with the granite we chose -- Cranbury Brown. It just so happened that the cabinetry we liked could only be purchased at one establishment, and only if we continued with the contractor we *thought* we were going to use. When we got his final quote, we realized how outrageously priced he was and that we could do better being our own general contractors -- of sorts.

So the hunt began for similar cabinets.....

I can honestly say it was a nightmare. I have come to the conclusion that service just isn't what it used to be. I can't tell you how lackadaisical some of the people were we dealt with. I mean we had to be easy pickings because we *knew* what we wanted, we had a design, and we were willing to spend cash! We went to no fewer than 4 separate retailers about cabinets, and the only one who came through was Lowes. Kenny, our salesman, went through our design, fixed the problem areas, offered suggestions, called to check on our progress, and generally made us feel like he wanted our business. The other thing was that Lowes price-matched the cabinet bid we received from a different deadbeat salesman from another establishment. Kenny is coming out to do a final measurement, then I think we're going to order the cabinets!
